Ren has spent more than 30 years in the IT field with a focus on application development for key business systems. Upon graduation from Western Michigan University, Ren got his start as a software developer for a large federal agency. He specialized in end-user productivity and organizational messaging applications. During his tenure with the government, Ren was rapidly promoted into management, primarily in applications development. Ren then moved into the world of commercial consulting working for Lotus Development, focusing on Lotus Notes applications. After the acquisition of Lotus by IBM, Ren developed the security tracking application for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Ren left IBM to serve as the Director of Commercial Services and as a Senior Scientist at Creative Technology until it was purchased by General Dynamics.

 

Ren founded Excel Technologies in 2003 and served as its President until 2016.
